  2. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  3. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  4. 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted and slightly cooled
  5. 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  6. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  7. 2 large eggs
  8. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  9. 1 cup red, pink, & white Valentine's Day M&M's +extra for topping
  10. 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 12x13" cake pan and set aside.
  2. In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugars. Add in the eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, making sure not to over mix.
  5. Fold in the M&M's and chocolate chips
  6. Dump cookie batter into prepared pan and smooth into an even layer using your hands or spatula.
  7. Sprinkle extra M&M's on top and press in slightly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the top is lightly golden brown.
  9. Cool completely before cutting and serving.
  1. * I used an 11x7" cake pan for these and that is why they came out thicker. If you use a smaller pan such as 11x7" or 9x9" the cookie bars will thicken more than using the 12x13" pan. Use whichever size pan you prefer.
