  1. 1 lb. lean ground beef
  2. 1½ lb. ground Italian sausage
  3. 1½ lb. ground pork
  4. 1 C. Italian style bread crumbs
  5. 4 slices of fresh white bread, broken up to make fresh bread crumbs
  6. 1 egg
  7. Extra virgin olive oil
  8. 1½ C. Parmesan cheese
  9. 2 tsp. parsley
  10. 1¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
  11. 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  12. 2 tsp. salt
  13. 1 tsp. pepper
  14. 1 lb. spaghetti
  15. 2 jars of spaghetti sauce
  1. Fill a large pot with water and add a pinch of salt. Boil the water, then add the spaghetti. Allow to cook for about 8 minutes or until the pasta is tender.
  2. Remove from the heat and drain the pasta. Pour some extra virgin olive oil over the spaghetti to prevent it from sticking and set it aside.
  3. Combine all of the remaining ingredients, except the spaghetti sauce and Parmesan cheese, in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Form the meat into 2 inch balls (you should have between 14 and 16 meatballs).
  5. In a large skillet, pour extra virgin olive oil so that it covers the bottom. Heat the oil on medium heat and add the meatballs. Allow them to cook until the meatballs become brown on the outside. You may need to do this in several batches before you have browned all of them.
  6. In a large sauce pan, heat the spaghetti sauce. Add the meatballs to the heated sauce. Cook covered on low heat for about 30 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  7. You can mix the sauce with the pasta or pour the sauce over the served pasta. Top each dish with a bit of Parmesan cheese.
