Scotch eggs are whole hard boiled eggs, wrapped in sausage meat, then dipped in bread crumbs, before being deep-fried. Now this recipe may have originated across the Irish Sea in England or Scotland, but Irish people have embraced these picnic eggs since their inception.

Ingredients
  1. 4 large eggs
  2. For Sausage Meat
  3. 1lb ground pork
  4. 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  5. 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  6. 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
  7. 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  8. 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  9. 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  10. 1/8 teaspoon salt
  11. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  12. For Dredging
  13. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  14. 2 eggs
  15. 1 and 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  16. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  17. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  18. 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  19. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  20. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  21. 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  22. For Deep Frying
  23. canola or vegetable oil
